Making an Impact Since 2005

What started as a small volunteer effort to help women and children leaving domestic shelters has grown into a comprehensive furniture bank serving all Knox County residents in need.

From serving just six families in 2005, we've now assisted over 3,000+ individuals and families, operating from a 9,000 square foot warehouse generously provided rent-free by the Ariel Corporation.

  • “I want to thank you for everything! With your help my apartment looks great, I'm living alone with my cat after 27 years of abuse. This is the first time in my life I've lived alone and I'm so happy! Thank you all!”

  • "Everyone at HopeNow were so nice! They made me feel so comfortable at one of the lowest times of my life. They are angels on Earth!"

  • "We had a good experience and we were very pleased."

  • “Yvonne, her son and 2 granddaughters relocated from Detroit to Mount Vernon. Yvonne’s boyfriend, Bernardo, lives in Mount Vernon and she was anxious to reunite with him and family here. She had moved her family to Detroit several years ago, but it was time to come home.

They didn’t bring much with them, just clothing in storage crates. This was truly starting over. They were able to find a rental home they could afford but they had nothing to make it a home.

Fortunately, they were referred to HopeNow Furniture Bank. Yvonne and Bernardo walked through the furniture warehouse, picked out furniture, and were given all the basic housewares that would make their house a home. Yvonne was overwhelmed with feelings of gratefulness. “I can’t believe we can get all this stuff. Thank you, God. It’s unbelievable!

Yvonne is one of many examples of HopeNow’s role in helping people pick furniture and housewares that will help them make a new life in Knox County. We’re happy to be able to be a part of re-building lives, and we’re grateful to all the donors who give so generously to help others.”

  • “HopeNow was such a huge blessing! Everyone was extremely kind and helpful, very friendly as soon as you walk in the door. My daughter is going to absolutely love her new bed! Thank you so much to everyone at HopeNow. We appreciated it so much. Have a blessed day.
